What We Do

Young people with cancer often spend a lot of their time at hospital appointments and undergoing treatment. We know that the focus at this time can be on the medical condition, and this can make

it extremely difficult for families to find the time and energy to arrange special

experiences for  them all to enjoy together, away from the doctors and hospitals.

Here at the Mockingbird Trust, we aim to arrange trips and events for the young person or the whole family, taking the organisational and financial strain away in the hope of giving some relief from the daily stresses being faced.

We find out what families would like to do together,

as well as making suggestions of trips and activities that they can share.

Each event is tailored to the young person and we take away the headache of any transport, logistics and costs so that the whole family is able

to concentrate on what’s important, enjoying spending time together.

The Mockingbird Trust is an exciting new charity set up in October 2016

by the family of Anna Wilkinson. We have many ongoing fund-raising

activities and began offering organisational and funding support in mid-2018.

Initially, we plan to focus on theatre trips, shows and fine dining experiences. But as time progresses we will be broadening the scope of the opportunities available, so watch this space!
